Questions
How long does a skills assessment take in Australia?
It depends on the authority and the service. Standard applications often take several weeks to a few months, and fast-track services cost more for a quicker decision. The medians in the table come from applicants who shared their dates in the last 12 months; check the authority's own site for its current service standard.
Which skills assessment authority do I need?
Each occupation has one assessing authority. Open your occupation page on this site to see it: for example ACS for IT occupations, Engineers Australia for engineers, ANMAC for nurses, TRA for most trades and VETASSESS for many professional and general occupations.
Times are shared by visitors and are not checked. Each authority sets its own fees, documents and service standards; always follow its current instructions.
